Folu Ogundimu

Dr. Folu Ogundimu is a professor in the School of Journalism and the College of Communication Arts & Sciences at Michigan State University, East Lansing. At MSU, Dr. Ogundimu serves as director and principal investigator of the WHO-funded Nigeria polio communications project. He is a Faculty Excellence Advocate for the College of Communication Arts & Sciences and Core Faculty of the African Studies Center and the Center for International Development.

Dr. Ogundimu is co-editor of Media and Democracy in Africa (2002; 2003); and editor of the journal of African Rural and Urban Studies, (1997). He trained at the University of Lagos and Indiana University (Bloomington), receiving an MPA in public and environmental affairs management and PhD in Mass Communications. He also has degrees in political science and journalism. Dr. Ogundimu serves as a consultant to Freedom House (NY) and was Senior Research Associate for Afrobarometer and the Center for Democracy and Development, Ghana; Research Associate for the Globalization Research Center on Africa, UCLA; and visiting professor at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. He previously served as a consultant to the USAID, (Zambia, 1995), and the UN Economic Commission for Africa (Ethiopia (2002, 2003).
